I'm officially leaving national cancer centre this coming Friday (28/1). People close to me you probably already know what happened. It was terribly horrible and horribly terrible. From this incident, I know it would be a sweeping statement to conclude that Singaporeans are just so arrogant and rude but generally I would have to say most are. Haiz...It's so depressing. Only after less than a month I decided to fire myself from the job even though the supervisors are quite happy with me. But, what is it for me if I turn up for work everyday so miserable? I still very much want to enjoy my holidays still even though I'm working you know...
Anyway, I felt that God probably didn't want me to stay in the job. Shortly after I resigned, I was offered three available jobs and received 2 calls from agencies. One doing retail by a friend, another an office job by my cousin who's friend is the boss of the company, next a telemarketing job recommended by Jinny. The two calls from the agencies I didn't pick up cos..Well I just didn't. I missed their call lah...Sad..But I reckoned that the offered pay wouldn't be so attractive. And well, I chose to believe it's that way anyway. I'll most probably take the one offered to me by my cousin. Firstly, I trust my cousin to get a reliable job for me. Secondly, the person interviewing me will be her friend, the boss of the company, so I'll probably have a higher chance of getting a job. Thirdly, since I'm getting the job directly from the company, I know I wouldn't get fleeced by some dubious agency. Lastly, It's just beside the MRT at Tanjong Pagar. Very corporate, very me.
So I'll talk about something more happy now. I went for my very first driving practical lesson. It was exciting but sadly I stalled twice. I was hoping I could pass the lesson without a flaw. Yet, it didn't stop me from wanting to continue learning driving. The motivating factor is the SUNNY man!! haha...

CArs CArs CArs
Went to IKEA today with my parents intending to buy a new study desk for my sis as she's been complaining that hers is too small for conducive studying. Haha...'Cos previously I took the bigger one and she ended up with the tinier one with bookshelves. Not that she mind since she was staying at the NTU hostel now. It just that because my parents are buying a car so she'll be staying at home on her second year in uni. GREAT. So there goes my 'finally I have the bedroom to myself' intention.
Oh..My sister recently got her Driving license a few days back and my dad let her on the road today. She drove us to IKEA. I tell you, it was a super nerve wrenching ride. I was holding on to my breath all the way there. The swerves at the turns are totally killers. Literally.
Following that, we went to the showroom to see the cars my parents bought last Sunday. I totally love the Nissan Cefiro(Black pearl). It's so executive and classy. Too bad I'll be driving the Sunny. But it's not too bad..Just that I didn't really like the color and the features are so basic. Color: Beige gold. Kinda' common in Singapore. Wanted the Maroon one instead but my sis was totally against that color. Must be bad blood. Only if they had black as a choice...
Tomorrow's my first driving practical lesson. So exciting! I passed my BTT. It was super easy! Peeps out there, if you passed PSLE, you can do it! haha...Wish me all the best for practical. Would have to apply for the Provisional Driving License(PDL) first. I just hope when I do start driving the car, it doesn't stall in the middle or the road. Ciaoz.

Deadbeat
After working for four days, I conclude that working is not as easy as I expected. I'm holding the position of Patient Service Clerk. And it requires so much paperwork as well as manual work. The only thing I', complaining about is it's meager amount that they pay me. Haiz..Can the holidays get any worse? I believe it's helping people in a way..But it's so tiring and and and...

Bursting with excitement
You people must be thinking what can be so exciting in the life of someone rotting at home 24/7. For one, from tomorrow onwards, instead of wasting away in the comforts of my own home, you'll be finding me in National Cancer Centre, Singapore. And no, I'm not a patient there but working there! yay..I've got a job. It may not be the most well-paid or the most exciting job, but at least it has got something to do with helping people.
Another exciting thing. My Dad bought a new car! In fact he bought 2! One Nissan Cefiro for himself and the other Nissan Sunny for Me and my sis. So cool! Sadly, I only just started learning.. My sister will be pioneering that car I guess...Still...I'm still so excited
.

Took my BTT today. Will only receive the results in 2 weeks time I heard. So many things to anticipate...
I really can't describe what I'm feeling now man...
I am just totally grateful to HIM for blessing me with these things. I mean even though I've never asked for them, he just cont. Doing it and surprising me with things. Small or big. Through friends, family and strangers...
So elated

Heal the World -Micheal Jackson
There's a place inYour heart
And I know that it is love
And this place could
Be muchBrighter than tomorrow
And if you really try
You'll find there's no needTo cry
In this place you'll feel
There's no hurt or sorrow
There are ways
To get there
If you care enough
For the living
Make a little space
Make a better place...
Heal the world
Make it a better place
For you and for me
And the entire human race
There are people dying
If you care enough
For the living
Make a better place
For you and for me

A life is like a Candle in the Wind
Was doing some quiet time this morning and I chanced upon this verse in the Bible that I thought was very relevant to the recent tsunami disaster. I was quite upset about it for the past few days because every morning when I flip open the papers the death toll just stares right back into my face. I hope this verse will inspire us Christians or Non-Christians to do something to help even if we are not financially capable.
" And whatever things you ask in prayer. Believing you will receive."
Matthew 21:22
The keywords here are prayer and believing. The least we can do is to give the victims a piece of our hearts by praying for them and really believing that what we are praying for will help them through faith. Unfortunately I only realized how fragile our lives are in this world after many of such similar tragic disasters that happened in the recent years.
" There is no exercise better for the heart than reaching down and lifting people up."

Tag it your way
Finally managed to get a tag-board. Jinny has been pushing me to get it so she can give nice comments. Haha... So besides her, Hope anyone else would just drop in to say 'hi' too.
Went for the e-trial test yesterday. They allowed the test to be done over and over again if you are able to finish within the stipulated time. Well, I managed to complete the test 4 time over within an hour. Though the 50 questions given were almost all different each time, I kept getting the score of 96%. 2 questions I didn't know which kept the 4% to full marks far from my reach . So irritating...Still, the optimistic side about it is that I passed the trail test with flying colours. Which, I hope goes to show that, since the real BTT test is on 10th Jan, with results like that, it should be easy-peasy.
Oh. Also, I converted to the manual car lessons from the auto one which I initially signed up for.
It cost me $21.50! Just to change! These people are money-suckers I tell you...Money suckers!
Talked with Dorcas over the phone while I was waiting my turn to do the conversion. She sounded so tired and drained after only 2 days of school. It's the exam period for her and she hadn't exactly been studying that hard during the holidays. The holidays in December actually meant 'study' break. Oh well.. Just hope she'll not neglect her health.
Met up with Wing at the McDonald's in Elias Mall thereafter. She was craving for a berrynice yoghurt. What funny cravings she has...

Forest Gump
Did this quiz from Jinny's blog. Thought it was interesting 'cos i really liked that show and the theme song.
"That day, for no particular reason, I
decided to go for a little run. So I ran to the
end of the road. And when I got there, I
thought maybe I'd run to the end of town. And
when I got there, I thought maybe I'd just run
across Greenbow County. And I figured, since I
run this far, maybe I'd just run across the
great state of Alabama. And that's what I did.
I ran clear across Alabama. For no particular
reason I just kept on going. I ran clear to the
ocean. And when I got there, I figured, since
I'd gone this far, I might as well turn around,
just keep on going. When I got to another
ocean, I figured, since I'd gone this far, I
might as well just turn back, keep right on
going. When I got tired, I slept. When I got
hungry, I ate. When I had to go... you know...
I went."

Lessons again
Last Sunday after church I went for the Basic theory test(BTT) lessons. It was pouring cats and dogs..I was drenched waist down by the time I reached Comfort Driving Centre. I was going for lessons 3 and 4 and was supposedly attending lessons 1 and 2 another day. My initial plan was to not go for 1 and 2 but it because it was compulsory and the stamps on the driving booklet was used as the evidence for my attendance, I had to go. However, the instructor just stamps all 4 lessons for me! That's so cool. Hah...It's not very honest and I admit I cheated by not alerting him...But if I know it's going to be a sleeping session, why not? Ok. I convinced myself by saying that the things taught in lessons 1 and 2 are pure memory work 'cos they are about road signs and stuff. haiz..Bad girl
Yesterday I was flipping through the papers and I read about this little girl aged 8 who lost her parents and siblings in the tsunami disaster. After reading the whole article along with articles about the rest my tears just couldn't stop flowing. I was so sad...
I want to help so much but I am not financially capable.
Sending my regards, I just want to tell them that time takes away the pain and grieve but memory alone turns over every leaf. Hope they'll take it in their stride.
Tuesday, later in the afternoon I'll be taking my e-trial test for the BTT. Nothing exciting or interesting. It's just a trial test. Wish me all the best! hah..

New Year's Day
It's the new year, so HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!
Auld Lang Syne
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
And never brought to mind?
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
And days of auld lang syne? And days of auld lang syne, my dear,
And days of auld lang syne.
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
And days of auld lang syne?
We twa hae run aboot the braes
And pu'd the gowans fine.
We've wandered mony a weary foot,
Sin' auld lang syne.
Sin' auld lang syne, my dear,
Sin' auld lang syne,
We've wandered mony a weary foot,
Sin' auld ang syne.
We twa hae sported i' the burn,
From morning sun till dine,
But seas between us braid hae roared
Sin' auld lang syne.
Sin' auld lang syne, my dear,
Sin' auld lang syne.
But seas between us braid hae roared
Sin' auld lang syne.
And ther's a hand, my trusty friend,
And gie's a hand o' thine;
We'll tak' a cup o' kindness yet,
For auld lang syne.
For auld lang syne, my dear,
For auld lang syne,
We'll tak' a cup o' kindness yet,
For auld lang syne.
I spent my new year's eve with Hew Wing watching the Phantom of the Opera and shopping. The Phantom of the Opera was really nice...I really loved the songs esp. the one 'say you love me'. At the ending I pitied and sympathized with the Phantom so much I was sniffing(quietly) through that scene. It was so sad though it was a happy ending for the couple.
It's been a long time since I met up with Wing already. We had alot of catching up to do. We chatted so much and still clicked so well. It was really fun. Kind of miss my secondary school friends now. I do still keep in touch with them but there are a few specific ones i wished i had more time to spent with.
My New Year Resolutions:
* TO keep my relationships with friends as strong as ever
* TO earn money to finance my spending habits instead of taking from mum
* TO be more helpful esp. around the household
* TO meet the one
* TO always be me
Yeah... that's basically IT.
